YUBU Bento

Located in the centre of Amsterdam, YUBU is a compact take-out shop specialising in elevated Japanese light fare.
Within a footprint of less than 20 square metres, the design explores how spatial clarity and material restraint can evoke calmness and refinement.

Working closely with the founders, the project reinterprets YUBU’s philosophy — balancing Japanese simplicity with a contemporary sensibility. The space is defined by walnut wall trims, bamboo countertops, and soft blue accents, creating a tactile and cohesive atmosphere that mirrors the brand’s emphasis on craftsmanship and purity.

Every element, from layout to detail, is considered to maximise openness and intimacy within the smallest scale. The result is a space that feels precise yet inviting — a quiet reflection of YUBU’s understated identity.
